Apple’s application store is estimated to lose approximately USD450 million since opening in July 2008. This losses due to increasing acts of piracy in cyberspace.

This was disclosed by technology analyst firm 24 / 7, as quoted by the Telegraph.

Piracy continues to be a frightening specter for iPhone and iPod Touch application developers. Based on data by 148Apps.biz, Apple showed the applications available on AppStore reached approximately 127,632 and has been downloaded nearly three billion downloader.
From the three billion downloaded applications, 13 to 21 percent is paid application. IPhone and iPod users who modify the handset is the one who adverse Apple AppStore.

Because the iPhone and iPod touch user hack their iPhone with the purpose to download and install applications from outside the App Store. Apple’s spokesman was reluctant to comment on the losses caused by piracy.
