ZTE plans to launch a smart phone based on Google’s Android operating system. Phone plans will be released to the market in the first quarter of 2010.

“Along with the development trend and the popularity of Android, ZTE is committed to investing in the most innovative platforms to meet the market demand,” said Lin Qiang, General Manager of ZTE Smartphones as reported by Cellular-News.

According to Lin Qiang, ZTE has been investing in research and development of Android since last year. “Quarter of this year, ZTE will launch it,” said Lin.
Not only ZTE, the electronics company from South Korea,LG, also has prepared a number of Android phone in 2010. In fact, LG said that 50 percent of the phones that will be issued in the year 2010 is the Android-based phone.

The launch of Android phone is part of an Motorola effort to be a world’s second-largest mobile phone vendor in 2012. Approximately 20 models from LG will carry the Android-based system, initial launch will also be carried out in 2010.

For the 2010 LG will distribute 10 million units of mobile phones until the end of the year.
