Tommy Foltz
President
Tommy Foltz has spent more than a decade working in the energy industry as a corporate vice president, entrepreneur, small-business man and political appointee to the U.S. Department of Energy. He has given many speeches on energy and environmental policy at industry forums across the country, in Europe and in South America.
Prior to founding Patriot BioFuels, he served as president of the Foltz Company. Foltz was also vice president for public affairs of Blue Energy & Technologies Co. from 2000-2003. During his tenure at Blue Energy and the Foltz Company, he directed two successful industry alliances concerning issues before the Texas Legislature. In both cases, Foltz was able to ensure that companies he represented were eligible for substantial incentives to assist them in marketing advanced energy technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells, heavy-duty natural-gas engines, and LNG and CNG infrastructure. In his numerous roles, he has also secured more than $5 million in grant funding for alternative energy projects.
From 1997-2000, Foltz was president of Clean Fuels Strategies Inc. (CFS), a Washington, D.C.-based firm that focused on public affairs related to energy and transportation technologies.
Foltz, a University of Arkansas graduate, served in the Clinton administration from 1993-1997, at the U.S. Department of Energy as deputy staff director for President Clinton’s Federal Fleet Conversion Task Force, and later as director of the National Clean Cities Program.
